Celtic and Rangers transfer news and headlines

Celtic and Rangers are preparing for the return to Scottish Premiership action. Ange Postecoglou's team will travel to Portugal this week for warm-weather training. Rangers will play a friendly against Bayer Leverkusen this weekend.

Cho Gue-Sung is close to a January move overseas. The Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors striker has been strongly linked with a move to Celtic. Ange Postecoglou is interested in signing him. Guedeung's father advises him to choose a club that can help him adapt to his new lifestyle. Güe-sung impressed for his country at the World Cup in Qatar.

Peter Lawwell was appointed as the new chairman of Celtic. Nicholas is not happy with the appointment. He believes Lawell has too much of an ego and is too self-centered. Lawll stepped down as chief executive at the end of the 2020/21 season. He was responsible for Celtic's failure to win 10-in-a-row.

Ryan Kent is close to leaving Rangers as contract talks with the club continue to stall. Everton are favourites to sign the winger. Aston Villa are also interested in signing him.  Steven Gerrard was sacked by Rangers in October.

Neil Banfield is impressed with the quality of the Rangers youth academy. He is the assistant manager of Michael Beale's team. Banfields hopes to help Beales complete a squad overhaul in the next six months. He hints that some of Rangers' promising young players could get more first-team opportunities in near future.
