Chelsea are finally moving in the right direction and they should make it four wins from five games in all competitions when they host Brentford in the early kick-off on Saturday.

After a very poor start to the season under new boss Mauricio Pochettino, the Blues have improved significantly of late and they should be able to see off the Bees at Stamford Bridge.

Brentford had gone six Premier League games without a win before beating Burnley last Saturday and they may struggle to cope with a seemingly rejuvenated Chelsea.

Chelsea forward Armando Broja will be assessed after he missed the draw with Arsenal last weekend due to a knee injury picked up while on on international duty for Albania earlier this month.

Ben Chilwell (hamstring) and Romeo Lavia (ankle) are still out for the hosts, as are Carney Chukwuemeka and Christopher Nkunku, who both have knee injuries.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney remains suspended, while Kevin Schade and Josh Da Silva are not expected to be fit until December.

Injured trio Shandon Baptiste, Mikkel Damsgaard and Keane Lewis-Potter are all also likely to be unavailable for the visitors and Rico Henry has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Mykhailo Mudryk finally got his first Chelsea goal in the recent win at Fulham and he quickly followed up with his second for the club against Arsenal last weekend.

After failing to score in three games on the spin in September against Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth, Chelsea have now hit eight goals in their past three matches.

Brentford have won just two of their first nine matches this season.

The Bees have won on their last two visits to Stamford Bridge, registering a 4-1 victory in April 2022 and a 2-0 success a year later.

Chelsea's recent upturn in fortunes started with a 1-0 home win over Brighton a month ago in the Carabao Cup and they have since won comfortably at Fulham and Burnley, before holding Arsenal to a 2-2 draw last weekend.

They will have been hugely frustrated not to have beaten the Gunners too, having raced into a deserved 2-0 lead only to concede twice in the final 13 minutes and it was notable how sharp they were from the off against Mikel Arteta's men.

They also started very quickly in the 2-0 success at Craven Cottage, when they scored early through Mudryk and Broja.

It could be a similar story against Thomas Frank's side, with Chelsea tipped to be in front at half-time before going on to secure victory.
