Chris Jones Props: Jones Odds, Predictions for Super Bowl Prop Bets 2023

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones has been a beast in these playoffs and could keep that run going in Super Bowl 57. Here are our Chris Jones prop picks based on the best Super Bowl odds.

As sports betting legalization continues across the country, it seems safe to say that more money will be wagered on Super Bowl 57 picks this Sunday than any other sporting event in history. Of course, the plethora of Super Bowl player props that are available for action is a big reason why.

Bettors can find props for just about any player in the Chiefs vs. Eagles matchup, including Kansas City defensive tackle Chris Jones (we also have Super Bowl prop picks for Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick). Remarkably enough, Jones hadn’t recorded a sack in the postseason up until his dominant performance in the AFC Championship Game this year. Will he be able to achieve similar success against Philadelphia’s stout offensive line?

Here are our best Chris Jones player prop picks for Super Bowl 57 (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and BetMGM; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Chris Jones NFL player props for Super Bowl 57

  • Over 0.25 sacks vs. Eagles (-135 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐
  • Under 3.5 total tackles vs. Eagles (-120 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐
  • Any other player to record an interception (+1000 via DraftKings) ⭐

Chris Jones Over 0.25 sacks vs. Eagles (-135 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

Sometimes, it’s worthwhile to consider making a bet solely based on the price discrepancies found in the market. When it comes to Jones’ over/under sack total for Super Bowl LVII, there is a large variation in terms of both the line itself and the corresponding odds.

With half-sacks not only possible but also quite common, there is a huge difference between playing Over 0.25 sacks at DraftKings as opposed to Over 0.75 or 1-plus sacks at other sportsbooks. Naturally, one has to lay more juice on the lower total. That said, the -135 price at DK is only 10-20 cents higher than those found at other shops with a higher line.

Jones doesn’t have a great track record of generating sacks in playoff games. However, he played like a man possessed in the AFC Championship where he recorded two in the same game. It’s also worth noting that the Eagles gave up 44 sacks this season, which tied for the 11th-most of any team. The offensive line is much more suited to run block than it is to hold up in pass protection.

Chris Jones Under 3.5 total tackles vs. Eagles (-120 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐

When it comes to Jones’ prop for total tackles in the Super Bowl, the line is set at 3.5 across all major sportsbooks in the market. However, there is a massive price disparity between several of these shops.

At the time of writing, BetMGM is offering the Under on 3.5 total tackles for Jones at -120 odds. Comparatively, some other books have this exact same prop and price listed at -154. As such, bettors are strongly advised to shop around and be selective in where they place this wager.

Jones has come up short of this prop total in 11 of the 17 games that he has played this season, including the playoffs. In eight postseason games spanning the last three years, he has only surpassed 3.5 total tackles twice. As a main focal point of the Chiefs’ defense, it’s reasonable to expect that the Eagles will have a game plan in place to prevent him from wreaking havoc in the Super Bowl.

Any other player to record an interception (+1000 via DraftKings) ⭐

There has been no shortage of wild moments in Super Bowls over the years. Could we get a big-man interception in this year’s matchup? Well, based on how DraftKings has its interceptions prop worded, we don’t need Jones to be the one to come up with a pick in order to cash. It can be any other player on either team aside from those that have odds listed.

Of course, oddsmakers have listed just about all linebackers and defensive backs on both the Chiefs and Eagles individually as part of this prop. However, this is the Super Bowl, where even the most unlikely of heroes can emerge.

With talents such as Jones, Frank Clark, Fletcher Cox and Josh Sweat all involved in this game, why not take a stab at 10-1 odds? Both teams certainly have defensive fronts capable of deflecting passes. It’s also worth noting that there are a handful of reserve defensive backs that are not listed individually.
