Super Bowl 57 Predictions: Chiefs vs. Eagles Picks & Odds

For the first time since 2017, the AFC’s and NFC’s No. 1 seeds meet in the Super Bowl. Read on for our Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles NFL picks for Super Bowl 57 based on the best NFL odds.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won his third AFC Championship Game in his fifth year as a starter. His 14 career touchdowns in the conference championship round are now the second-most of all-time, and he beat Joe Burrow head-to-head for the first time in his career to make his third Super Bowl appearance (he was 0-3 against Burrow).

The Eagles were the last undefeated team this season, losing for the first time on Monday Night Football in Week 10 to the Washington Commanders. However, they are trying to become the first team to win the Super Bowl after being the last undefeated team in the league since the Indianapolis Colts did it in 2006. Philadelphia won its two playoff games against the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers by a combined score of 69-14 and is now 16-1 with Jalen Hurts as a starter this season.

Here is our best Chiefs vs. Eagles NFL pick for Super Bowl 57 (odds via WynnBet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Chiefs vs. Eagles odds

  • Opening odds: The Chiefs opened as 1.5-point favorites with the Over/Under set at 49.5
  • Super Bowl spread (as of Monday, Jan. 30): The consensus spread flipped by Monday morning to favor the Eagles by between 1.5 and 2.5 points.
  • Super Bowl Over/Under: The consensus Over/Under for Super Bowl 57 held steady at 49.5 as of Monday morning.
  • Super Bowl moneyline: The Eagles are laying moneyline odds of -120 to -135 with the Chiefs priced as high as +115 to win outright.

Kansas City was a 1.5-point favorite, but the line has swung wildly to as high as Philadelphia -2. Max Meyer of Caesars Sportsbook reported on Twitter Sunday night that 24 spread or moneyline bets of at least $10,000 had already been placed, and 21 of them are on the Eagles. Seventy-seven percent of all point spread bets to this point have backed Philadelphia as well.

The look-ahead line on the total for this matchup was 48 points but is now up to 49.5 unanimously across all sportsbooks.

Chiefs vs. Eagles pick

Chiefs vs. Eagles Under 49.5 (-108 via WynnBet) ⭐⭐⭐

Mahomes finished the AFC Championship Game going 29-for-43 for 326 yards and two touchdowns, but much of the focus over the next two weeks will be around the health of Kansas City’s wide receiving corps. Kadarius Toney, Mecole Hardman, and JuJu Smith-Schuster all left Sunday's game due to injuries, leaving Mahomes with tight end Travis Kelce (who now has the second-most playoff receiving yards all-time with 1,467) and unproven pass catchers like Skyy Moore and Marcus Kemp.

All three wide receivers will have an extra week to get healthy, and Mahomes himself will get time to heal an ankle injury that bothered him at times against Cincinnati. But we saw how aggressive Philadelphia’s defense was against San Francisco when it smelled blood with how banged up the 49ers were, and the Eagles allowed just 164 total yards.

Philadelphia is built to win any style of game, from a shootout to a ground-and-pound defensive struggle. The Eagles did not break San Francisco’s streak of not allowing a 70-plus-yard rusher (now 28 consecutive games), but Kenneth Gainwell, Miles Sanders, and Hurts each carried the ball at least 11 times, and the team churned out 148 yards on the ground.

Hurts has a 7-0 TD-INT ratio in three games against top-10 rushing defenses this season. However, Kansas City entered the AFC Championship Game with 241 quarterback pressures and a league-leading 198 times contacting the quarterback; the Chiefs then added five sacks and 12 quarterback hits against Burrow. That pressure, along with the Eagles ranking first in sacks, first in total yards per game allowed, and sixth in points per game allowed, are reasons we are backing a lower-than-expected-scoring Super Bowl.

Chiefs vs. Eagles best odds

Wynn (-108)

Nothing separates any of the major sportsbooks in terms of value for the O/U, except Wynn is charging slightly less juice at -108. No betting splits have yet been released for the total, but the fact that it has not budged at any sportsbook since its opening number suggests there has been great two-way action thus far.
