Cincinnati Reds vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction 7-14-23 MLB Picks

The Milwaukee Brewers and the Cincinnati Reds meet in an NL Central division matchup in MLB action from Great American Ballpark on Friday. Let’s dive into the odds, starting pitching matchup, history and make a prediction for this game.

Odds

Milwaukee is a -120 road favorite while Cincinnati is a +100 home underdog. The total for this game is set at 10 runs.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Corbin Burnes will start for the Brewers and is 7-5 with a 3.94 ERA and 102 strikeouts this season. Graham Ashcraft will start for the Reds and is 4-6 with a 6.28 ERA and 61 strikeouts this season.

Matchup History

Milwaukee’s 1-0 win on July 9th made it five straight head-to-head meetings without back-to-back winners in this matchup.

Trends

Milwaukee is 6-3 in their last 9 games overall and 4-1 in their last 5 road games while the over is 8-2 in their last 10 games overall. Cincinnati is 19-6 in their last 25 games overall and 9-4 in their last 13 home games while the over is 11-5 in their last 16 games overall.

Pick

I’m backing the Brewers here. It’s hard for me because I love this Cincinnati Reds team and how exciting they’ve been to watch, but the pure reality is that they’re not going to win every game and Graham Ashcraft has been a lot better on the road. He’s frankly stunk at Great American this season because of how hitter-friendly it is and the Brewers already got to Ashcraft for 10 runs in a start earlier this season. Not one I’m rushing to bet, but I’ll back the Brew Crew here.
