Clark on track to claim a Classic treble

Tim Clark is riding for a hat-trick of wins in the Group 1 $600,000 Coolmore Classic on Saturday. He has won the last two Coolmores on Krone (2021) and Con Te Partiro (2020). Vangelic is rated only a $19 chance. The Coolier Classic has a history of upsets. Jim Cassidy holds the Cooler riding record with four wins. Clark also had two seconds in Coolmere races on Gold Water and champion mare Hot Danish.

Vangelic finished fourth in last year's Coolmore Classic. She will start from gate 14 this time. Vangeli finished third in the Guy Walter Stakes. Tim Clark has formed a successful combination with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. He has ridden nearly 180 winners for the stable. Last week he rode the 19th Group 1 winner of his career on the Waterhouses and Bott-trained Converge. He is renowned of tactical nous and ability to control a race from the front. His riding complements the way of training and preparing their horses. It is nice to repay Gais Water house and Adrian Bott for their support.

Converge won the Randwick Guineas under Tim Clark last Saturday. The jockey can't ride the gelding in the Doncaster Mile at Royal Randwil on April 2. He will ride Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou-trained Ellsberg in a Group 2 $200,000 Ajax Stakes at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday instead.

Clark is on track to claim a Classic treble. Ellsberg is favourite to take out the Ajax Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday. Clark is also hoping to lock in his ride in next week's $5 million Golden Slipper when he rides Rise Of The Masses in the Group 3 $175,000 Pago Paga Stake at the Rose Hill Gardens.
