The Golden Eagle hopefuls who have beaten Anamoe

Converge, Overpass and In The Congo have all beaten Godolphin superstar Anamoe. Anamioe won all four of his races this spring. OverPass finished sixth in The Everest. He will run in the Golden Eagle instead of the Nature Strip Stakes. The Golden Eagles is a $10m race at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday. Light Infantry is the favourite at $4.20. i in this year's Golden Ego. i.e. the current odds of $17. Bjorn Baker, trainer of Over Pass, believes his four-year-old is ready to defy his current $3m odds and run a competitive race in Golden ego at the Rose Hill Gardens.

Converge and In The Congo are trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. They are hoping to win the Golden Eagle on Saturday. The gelding has been unplaced in each of his three starts. He defeated Anamoe in the Randwick Guineas in March. The wet spring has hampered his preparation.

Regan Bayliss will ride Converge in the Golden Eagle. Tim Clark rode In The Congo to win the Group 1 Golden Rose over 1400m at Rosehill last year. In In Congo hasn't won a race since that career-best effort but he showed a return to top form when he ran second in Sydney Stakes on Everest Day.
