They need LSU to lose to Georgia in the upcoming SEC Championship Game on Dec. 3. The Vols would join Georgia, the Ohio State-Michigan winner, and maybe Clemson. TCU and USC would be conference champions, so they would not be eligible for the playoff. If TCU wins and the Trojans lose, Tennessee would get in. South Carolinians would have to play their best game of 2022 to get into the playoffs. Their quarterback, Spencer Rattler, hasn't been able to improve his game since he moved to Oklahoma.
