College Football Player Props Week 5: Predictions, Picks for Friday

Week 5 of the college football season is here, and our top college football player props based on the best NCAAF odds should help you get in on the action this weekend.

A loaded Week 4 slate lived up to the hype, with many marquee matchups being worth the price of admission (or at least worthy of our time last Saturday). Unfortunately, we endured our first losing week of player props, though it felt like there were a few bad breaks along the way.

While we're still above water at this point in the season, let's hope Week 5 delivers some more winning tickets for our college football best bets, college football upset picks, and all of our college football Week 5 predictions.

Here are our best college football player props for Week 5 (odds via our best college football betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

College football player props for Friday Week 5

Jawhar Jordan Over 20.5 yards longest rush (-135 via Barstool) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Louisville running back Jawhar Jordan is one of the better players at his position in the country, something the world is going to learn during a prime-time matchup on Friday night.

Jordan's rushing prop has been set in the low 90s, which is the highest total among all running backs for Friday's slate. That's right in line with our projection, though we're tempted to sprinkle a bit on Jordan to finish with 100-plus rushing yards via the +135 offering at DraftKings.

But the best aspect of Jordan's prolific rushing ability is he can do plenty of damage on each carry. Jordan is averaging 9.6 yards per attempt through four games, which paces all FBS players with at least 50 carries. His longest runs over the past four weeks have gone for 42, 25, 72, and 74 yards.

That streak dates back to 2022, as Jordan's longest run has been 21-plus yards in each of his last nine outings. That includes a November meeting against NC State in 2022, when Jordan finished with 105 yards on 16 carries during a game that featured a 34-yard burst.

There could be many ways to bet on a big night for Jordan, but we'd rather bank on needing one play to cash a ticket. This prop bet should do the trick, especially considering NC State allowed Notre Dame running back Audric Estime to average 9.6 yards per carry just in Week 3.

College football player props for Saturday Week 5

Kaytron Allen Over 60.5 rushing yards (-114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There is a reason why this was my top play of the day in our college football expert picks piece for Week 5.

We project Penn State running back Kaytron Allen to be way more involved than the current rushing markets would suggest. Allen has a chance to flirt with 80 rushing yards, meaning this line of 60.5 rushing yards is simply too low, especially when the rest of the market is about five yards higher.

Allen might technically be the No. 2 running back on the depth chart, but he's a focal point of this offense. Penn State might even use him more than Nicholas Singleton in a game where the spread is nearly four touchdowns.

So far this season, Allen is averaging 70 rushing yards per game and has cleared this rushing prop twice. Allen carried the ball a season-high 21 times in last week's win over Iowa, turning that into 72 yards.

We expect him to build off that performance, and would be tempted in exploring alternate rushing markets ahead of a potential blowout.

SGP: Donovan Edwards Over 1.5 receptions and Michigan ML (-108 via Barstool) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, who is also technically the No. 2 option on the depth chart, has become a reliable target for prop bettors through four weeks. But not in the way you might suspect, as savvy prop bettors are dialed in on his receiving lines.

Edwards caught two balls for 41 yards last week, and now has now notched 11 receptions for 100 yards. That's why we saw the market adjust his receiving yardage line from 16.5 to 18.5 Friday morning. To capitalize on this action, we've cooked up a same-game parlay that involves Edwards catching multiple passes in a Michigan win through Barstool.

Barstool is the only shop offering a receptions prop for Edwards right now, and the Over on 1.5 catches is juiced closer to -150. By adding Michigan's moneyline odds, we're taking advantage of a discounted offering for Edwards to catch at least two passes.

Edwards has caught multiple passes in three of his four games thus far, which includes a five-reception effort against UNLV. We like his chances of remaining involved in the passing attack against a solid Nebraska defensive front.
