College football Week 12 best bets: Georgia vs. Tennessee; Kansas State vs. Kansas; Washington vs. Oregon State

With two regular-season weekends remaining in the 2023 college football season, there is still so much to play for.

Especially in the Pac-12.

While some teams in other conferences have already locked up their respective divisions and berths into championship games, the Pac-12 is still up for grabs.

Four teams have a chance at earning the top two spots with two games remaining, unlike the SEC where Georgia and Alabama have already cemented their place in the title game in Atlanta on Dec. 2.

But that doesn’t mean either SEC team will mail it in over the final two games, as top-ranked and two-time defending national champion Georgia has a big test against No. 18 Tennessee on Saturday in Rocky Top, while Alabama has the Iron Bowl against Auburn next weekend.

FrontPageBets takes a look at its top three games and best bets on the Week 12 slate.

No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 18 Tennessee predictions: Bulldogs -10.5 (-110) & Over 58.5 (-110)

Georgia moved back into the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff poll earlier this week after opening up at No. 2. Maybe that was a little motivation for the two-time defending national champs, who haven’t lost a game in almost two years.

But will it be enough for the Bulldogs (10-0) to win their 28th consecutive game when they travel to Knoxville on Saturday afternoon to face No. 18 Tennessee (7-3)?

Georgia has had some hiccups this year, but they’ve been minor and nothing the Bulldogs couldn’t overcome in their quest to be the first team in nearly a century to win three consecutive national championships.

Tennessee, on the other hand, hasn’t had the season it was hoping for. Still the Vols are in the top 20 and have a chance to make their season by knocking off the No. 1 team in the nation.

Georgia has won the last six in the series and 11 out of the last 13. The last time the Bulldogs lost in Rocky Top was 2015.

But, remember the last time Tennessee faced a top-three team at home? It was last year, when the Vols beat No. 3 Alabama, storming the field and carrying the Neyland Stadium goalposts off into the Tennessee River.

But don’t look for that to happen again this weekend.

  • Kickoff: 3:30 p.m.; Saturday
  • TV: CBS
  • The pick: Georgia, 38-21

No. 21 Kansas State vs. 25 Kansas predictions: Jayhawks +8.5 (-110) & Under 56.5 (-110)

For the first time in 28 years, and for just the second time ever, rivals Kansas State and Kansas will play each other while both ranked in the top 25 in any college football poll. The last time was 1995, when Kansas was No. 6 and K-State was 14th.

This Saturday, both teams are 7-3 and are looking to finish their respective season on a high note, with the Wildcats an 8.5-point road favorite. Which make sense, considering Kansas State is second in the conference in both scoring offense (38.8 ppg) and scoring defense (18.5 ppg).

The Jayhawks earned a signature win earlier this season by beating then-No. 6 Oklahoma, 38-33, in Lawrence.

  • Kickoff: 7 p.m.; Saturday
  • TV: FS1
  • The pick: Kansas State, 24-20

No. 5 Washington vs. 11 Oregon State predictions: Huskies moneyline (+115) & Over 63.5 (-110)

For the first time all season, undefeated and fifth-ranked Washington is an underdog.

The Huskies, who are led by a serious Heisman Trophy contender Michael Penix Jr. at quarterback, enter Saturday night’s game as a 2.5-point underdog to No. 11 Oregon State (8-2) in Corvallis.

Washington is in first place in the Pac-12 and has already beaten Oregon, which is No. 6 in the latest CFP poll. But according to some sportsbooks, the Ducks are even more of a favorite to make the playoffs than the Huskies.

However, Penix and Co. can clinch a spot in the Pac-12 championship game with a win Saturday night.

Washington boasts the nation’s top passing offense, which averages nearly 380 yards per game, and the sixth-best overall offense, which is putting up more than 503 yards per outing.

Oregon State has a path to the title game, but for the Beavers it’s a really tough road. Not only do they have Washington this weekend, they’ll face Oregon next weekend in the regular-season finale. OSU will have to win both of those to play in the championship game Dec. 1 in Las Vegas.

  • Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.; Saturday
  • TV: ABC
  • The pick: Washington, 40-25
