College football Week 3 highlights

Georgia is 3-0 after a 48-7 win over South Carolina. Stetson Bennett IV was the quarterback for the team. Last year, Nebraska was struggling. This year it's a team with a winning record. Georgia won the national championship last year. It's the same team that won last week's game against Oregon. It was a different team this year with different results. The team won by a score of 130-10. They also won over Clemson. A year ago, they were 3, but this time they beat Oregon 49-3.

Nebraska lost 49-14 to former Big 12 rival Oklahoma. Scott Frost is no longer the coach at Nebraska. Brent Venables took over at Oklahoma and the team played well. For the Sooners, it was a statement that Lincoln Riley's departure won't keep them from being in the playoff hunt. For Nebraska, the game was an opportunity to interview Urban Meyer for the head-coaching job.

Southern Illinois upset Northwestern 31-24 on Saturday. Virginia Tech beat Wofford 27-7. Kent State beat Long Island University 63-10. Long Islanders have lost five games in the last 13 months by a combined score of 256-20. They lost 37-0 to Toledo in Week 1, 42- 7 to Miami (Ohio), 66- 0 to West Virginia, and 48- 10 to Florida International.

Purdue and Syracuse played a close game that went to overtime. The under was covering, but the over hit. Michigan was favored by at least 45 points in consecutive games. It won both games, beating Colorado State and Hawaii and then UConn. The Wolverines beat Uconn 59-0. They were the first team to be favored at at most 31 points since 2001 Florida. Heaps of points were scored in the final quarter.
