Colorado Rockies Series Preview: Maybe the Royals can hit some home runs at altitude

The Rockies are weird. They are a game over .500 but with a run differential in line with much worse teams. The team traded away their star third baseman and signed Kris Bryant. Their starting pitching is good. However, their scoring has been a problem. They score runs, but a lot of that is park related.

Colorado won't be able to advance past the first game.

German Marquez is a good pitcher for the Rockies. He has a .404 average and .638 slugging percentage. His fastball is getting tagged to the tune of a. 404 average. Lefties have destroyed him this season. All six of his home runs at Coors Field have been hit by left-handed pitchers.

Daniel Lynch has had double-digit whiffs in four games. He gave up 16 foul balls on 40 pitches with two strikes in the game against the Orioles. It was his first game with walks. If he can start putting hitters away and getting through those at bats a little faster, he could become a two or three-man staff.

Austin Gomber was acquired in the Nolan Arenado trade. He had a good season for the Rockies last year and has started roughly the same this year. GOMber has a fastball that sits around 90 and a slider, changeup and curveball. His curve has been good, but he's allowed a lot of runners.
