DBacks Player Trends & Props

Christian Walker has totaled multiple bases in six of the last eight games, and after producing five runs in the two matchups with Colorado, he’s Arizona’s leader in home runs (26) and RBI (77).

Corbin Carroll has scored a run in four of the previous five games, and he’s posting nice splits of .269/21/59.

Ketel Marte has plated a run in three of the last five games,  and he’s first on the team in batting (.278) and hits (121), with nineteen homers and 62 RBI.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has recorded a hit in eight of the last ten games, and he’s posting a line of .259/19/63.

Rockies Preview & Projected Starter

Colorado moved to 46-74 after falling to Arizona. The Rockies fell back into the win column after letting game two slip away, and they’ll look to respond here Wednesday. The Colorado offense is scoring 4.5 runs per game, while batting .256, with a .317 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.70 ERA, with a 1.43 WHIP.

Austin Gomber (9-9, 5.33 ERA, 81 Ks) will get the call for Colorado. The fifth-year lefty held his own in Los Angeles last time out, holding the Dodgers to two runs in five innings pitched, but he still took his ninth loss. Gomber has pitched pretty well since the start of July, posting a 5-2 record over his last nine starts, while holding teams to two runs or less in eight of those contests. The FAU product held Arizona to one run thru six innings back in April, and he’ll look to keep this stretch of play going here.

Rockies Player Trends & Props

Ryan McMahon produced a run via SAC fly in last night’s loss, and he leads Colorado in hits (105), home runs (19), and RBI (60).

Elias Diaz only has a hit in three of the last ten games, but he’s still posting a solid line behind the plate of .260/11/51.

Ezequiel Tovar went yard in the game one victory, and after collecting a hit in seven of the last nine games, and he’s posting identical splits of .257/13/53.

Corey’s Free Pick

Colorado came so close last night to winning consecutive games for the first time in over a month last night, and they’ve got a shot to keep things close again here with their best pitcher set to go. Austin Gomber has been one of the lone bright spots in Denver this season, and if he could get some run support, he can earn his tenth victory here. The total is massive so flirting with the Under here could be in play, but let’s spot Colorado the runs for this divisional battle.
