Column: The story of Oregon’s 2022 season officially began against BYU
The Oregon Ducks lost to Georgia Bulldogs in the season opener on September 3. Dan Lanning and the team were rebuilding their program. On Saturday, they beat the No. 14 BYU Cougars 41-20. The game was a good barometer for how to judge the future of the Oregon team. The team is not as good as the previous one. They may not win as many games as they did against Georgia and EWU. However, the talent gap between them and Georgia is much greater. It's possible that the new team will be better than the old one, too. For example, it's not clear that they will win more games than they lost against EWu.
