Coroebus wins 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket to stun much fancied Native Trail. James Doyle and trainer Charlie Appleby's first wins in the race. Luxembourg stayed on bravely for third place. Royal Patronage took off early with the well-backed Point Lonsdale under Frankie Dettori.  Luxembourg stayed from a most unpromising position to take third for Ryan Moore and Aidan O'Brien, ahead of Eydon in fourth.

Coroebus won 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket. His trainer Charlie Appleby trains both the first and second horses. William Buick's horse Native Trail finished second. James Doyle was going to ride Coroebus. i in the Craven Stakes the same morning William had also ridden Coreobus and he would have ridden Corobuses.
