The Cubs entered the lottery with the 12th best odds and had a 1.3% chance to get No 1 pick, but they will be picking one spot worse than they finished the season. Several talented players have been drafted at the 13 spot in recent drafts. Trea Turner signed an 11-year, 300 million-dollar contract with Philadelphia. He is the most recent player to be drafted there. Trevor Rodgers was drafted in 2017. Josh Lowe, Garrett Whitley, Hunter Renfroe, Brandon Nimmo, and Chris Sale were drafted from the same spot.
