Stop yelling. I get that Kyle Schwarber strikes out a ton, but ever since the Cubs non-tendered him following the 2020 season, he has the second-most home runs from any left-handed hitter in baseball. The only player ahead of him? Shohei Ohtani. Schwarber’s 78 home runs in the past two seasons rank fourth most overall and only Aaron Judge has averaged more home runs per plate appearance.

Being able to hit for power matters. The Cubs, right now, don’t have anyone close to having that power potential as Schwarber. I’ll get over it eventually, but that time hasn’t come. In this article, myself, Zo, KFidds and Mitch will give our picks for home run leaders and strikeout leaders in the American and National League, respectively.
