David Prutton's Sky Bet Championship predictions

David Prutton predicts a draw between Blackburn and Sheffield United on the opening weekend of the 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship season. Blackburn finished in the relegation zone last season, while Sheffield were relegated.

Cardiff have brought in 10 players this summer, but only two have cost a lot of money. Norwich have prioritised attacking reinforcements and have looked sharp in pre-season. David Prutton predicts 2-2 between Cardiff and Norwich in the Championship.

Middlesbrough and West Brom are playing each other in the Championship on Saturday at 5.30 pm. Middlesbore missed out on a play-off spot by five points last season. West Baggies finished in 10th place.

Sunderland have been away from the Championship for four years. Alex Neil galvanised them towards the end of last season. Coventry looked like surprise play-off contenders for the first half of the last year. They fell right away and Mark Robins will be working to avoid that.

Watford take on Sheffield United on Monday at 8pm on Sky Sports Football. Rob Edwards is Watford's fourth manager since the start of last season. Sheffield lost out in the play-offs last term under Paul Heckingbottom.
