Sunderland head to winless Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night looking to keep their decent early-season form on track. The Owls are bottom of the second tier with two points from eight games while The Black Cats are flying high in 5th.

Sunderland lost last time out though, with a solitary late goal enough to give Cardiff City the three points at the weekend. That was their first defeat in six though, with four wins and a draw before that.

Wednesday have drawn two of their last five, losing the rest, and the three that proceeded that as well. It’s all pointing towards a Sunderland Win and the fact they’re away from home shouldn’t hold any fears, they’ve won two and drawn one in their last three on the road.

They’re pretty good going forward too, Sunderland. They’ve scored 15 goals in their eight league games this season, conceding eight in eight as well. As you might have expected Wednesday’s numbers are much worse with just five in the right end and 14 conceded.

Jack Clarke To Score Anytime

Jack Clarke has been the main man for Sunderland this season and he’s already notched five goals for the campaign. The 22 year old has four goals in his last four games and, against the worst side in the division, he’ll be licking his lips here.

He did fire a blank on Saturday but attempted three shots with one on target. It was a proper smash and grab from Cardiff but that should be beyond Wednesday so I really like Clarke to Score Anytime.

Josh Windass to Have 1 or More Shots on Target

Picking some bets for Sheffield Wednesday is quite tricky as they’ve chopped and changed a lot, especially up front. However, one of the mainstays this season has been Josh Windass.

The former Wigan and Rangers man has started three of the last four and, after being on the bench last time, I think he’s going to be back in the starting XI here.
