De Gea next clubs odds: Los Blancos Key Favorites to Sign ex-United Star

David de Gea Quintana is now free to take on new adventures in the world of football, as his contract with Manchester United expired in July and he didn’t receive a contract renewal. In fact, Manchester United spent approximately €52.50m for Inter Milan’s Andre Onana who already made his unofficial debut with the red jersey in the game against Real Madrid on the 27 of July.

The Spanish goalkeeper spent over a decade at Old Trafford, during which he became a club legend. Fan-favorite de Gea has 545 official games with the Red Devils’ jersey and he will surely be forever remembered as one of the few world-class players that Manchester United had during these turbulent times.

There were talks that Manchester United and David de Gea would agree on a new contract at the end of last season, but things swiftly fell apart, as Dutch manager Erik ten Hag is looking to reshape his squad from top to bottom. The 31-year-old will most certainly be out for the better part of the 2023/24 season, leaving a giant hole at the back of coach Ancelotti’s starting XI.

A hole that could easily be filled by David de Gea’s unquestionable skills. Los Blancos could count themselves lucky that David de Gea is a free agent and he’ll certainly come cheap. All that is left is for the two sides to agree on the final terms of the deal.
