Dead heat in the Whenuwishuponastar at Woodbine Mohawk

Woodbine Mohawk Park held the Pure Ivory, Millard Farms and Whenuwishuponastar during the 10-dash card on Thursday night (Aug. 3).

A rare dead heat was called in the Whenuwishuponastar for two-year-old pacing fillies between Odds On Platinum (Bettors Delight), and It’s a Love Thing (Bettors Delight). Both pacers outperformed their previous bests and earned a lifetime mark of 1:52.2. Odds On Platinum has back-to-back wins after finishing fifth in her debut. She is under trainer Ian Moore and had Sylvain Fillion in the bike, who ended the night with three wins. Its A Love Thing is now a perfect three-for-three in her young racing career. She was driven by James Macdonald and is trained by David Menary. Both pacers did not compete in the first leg of the Whenuwishuponastar.

There were also two splits for the second leg of the Pure Ivory for two-year-old trotting fillies. The first split was won by Bob McClure and Cool Ma Belle (Walner). She is now a perfect two-for-two as she won her debut in the first leg back on July 20. She had a mile time of 1:57.2, beating out her previous best by over a full second. Shawn Steacy now has 48 training wins on the year.

COOL MA BELLE REPLAY

The other split for the Pure Ivory was won by Cold Snaps (Six Pack). She now has back-to-back wins after finishing a disappointing ninth place in the New Jersey Sire Stakes at the Meadowlands. Cold Snaps seems to be finding her groove as she wins wire-to-wire and posts a new lifetime mark of 1:56.1. Trevor Henry was along for the victory ride as he drove for Blake Macintosh.

Send It In Hanover (Greenshoe) scores big in the Millard Farms for two-year-old trotting colts & geldings. He secures his third win in three career starts with a solid 1:56.2-mile time. He now has won both legs of the Millard Farms and is looking tough to beat. Send It Hanover took the lead early in the race and never let it go. This was Sylvain Fillion’s first of three wins on the card.
