DePaul Men’s Tennis Announces 2023-24 Schedule

CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis head coach announced the teams 2023-24 schedule, Thursday afternoon. The Blue Demons are set to host seven matches this season at XS Tennis and Lake Shore Fitness. 

​​"Overall, I am really excited for our schedule," said head coach . "We are in some great fall events that will give us a good idea of where our guys are all at and where we need to spend time to improve to be ready to accomplish our goals for the main season. The spring schedule is going to be tough. We open against Michigan who finished ranked No. 7 in the NCAA last year. Other Big 10 opponents include Purdue and Wisconsin. We will also play Cal Poly, Miami, FAU, Brown, the HEB Invitational and our normal Big East opponents. It will no doubt have us ready for outdoor tennis and a chance to take back our Big East title come April."

The Blue Demons kick off their fall tournament season with the Western Michigan Invite from Sept. 22-23 in Kalamazoo, Mich. The next weekend, the DePaul players have the opportunity to go to ITF Futures in Ithaca, N.Y. or ITA All-Americans in Tulsa, Okla.

DePaul's October slate opens with the Notre Dame Bayliss Invite on Oct. 6-8. In South Bend, Ind. Then the team divides and conquers the ITF Futures tournament on Oct. 13-22 in Lexington, Ky. and the ITA Midwest Regional tournament beginning on Oct. 18-23 in Ann Arbor, Mich. 

DePaul closes out its fall tournament season with another round of ITF Futures in Fayetteville, Ark. Oct. 27-Nov. 5, followed by the Notre Dame Mini Dual Invite on Nov. 3-5.

The Blue Demons open up the spring season in 2024 with a match against Michigan on Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. CT. That Friday, DePaul travels to Madison, Wis. to face off against the Badgers. 

On Jan. 19, DePaul hosts its first match of the season against BIG EAST foe Creighton for a 5:15 p.m. CT match at Lake Shore Fitness. The Blue Demons fly east the next weekend to play against Furman, Army and Boston College on Feb. 2, 3, 4, respectively. 

The Band of Brothers heads down south to Corpus Christi, Texas for the HEB Tournament on Feb. 16-17. The next weekend, DePaul plays host to Western Michigan and Navy at XS Tennis on Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25.

DePaul goes into March with a Purdue competition in West Lafayette, Ind. on Friday, March 1. The Blue Demons then welcome another BIG EAST rival, Marquette, to Lincoln Park for a Sunday afternoon match on March 3. That weekend, DePaul flys out to San Luis, Obispo, Calif. to play Cal Poly and Grand Canyon on March 8 and March 9. 

DePaul heads home for another match at XS Tennis against Georgetown on Friday, March 22, before enjoying a warm spring break in Boca Raton, Fla. when the team goes head to head with Brown on March 28, and then Florida Atlantic on March 30. 

The Blue Demons close out their regular spring season with two BIG EAST competitions at home, against Butler on Saturday, Apr. 6 at XS Tennis and Xavier on Saturday, Apr. 13 at Lake Shore Fitness before entering the championship portion of their season. 

The BIG EAST Tournament is slated for Apr. 19-21 in Cayce, S.C. and the NCAA Regional Championships are set for May 3-5.
