Despite Losing Over $5 Million in Betting, Drake Raises the Stakes Once Again During Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz

Drake, the Canadian rapper and songwriter, has become a huge name in the world of combat sports owing to his betting habits. Drake betting on UFC fights has even started a trend called the “Drake Curse,” stating that any fighter he picks to win loses the fight. Interestingly enough, the results of the fights Drake has put money on does indicate a pattern.

Now, ahead of Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz, Drake’s curse looms large on the fight after he revealed his picks on the photo-sharing platform, Instagram. The hugely anticipated showdown takes place inside Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Drake has lost millions in betting on UFC fighters

Drake has lost millions and millions of dollars betting on UFC fighters. The Canadian star put in a staggering $2 million after he picked Israel Adesanya to beat Alex Pereira at UFC 281. That ceased to be the case after Pereira stopped Adesanya in the fifth round to hand Stylebender the first loss of his middleweight career.

He lost almost half a million after he backed Justin Gaethje to beat Charles Oliveira. He lost $200,000 after Kamaru Usman suffered the first KO loss of his UFC career, which saw him drop the welterweight gold to Leon Edwards.

Drake did not have much success during Colby Covington vs. Jorge Masvidal either. He lost $275,000 after Covington dominantly beat archrival Masvidal.

Drake has now put $250,000 on Nate Diaz to win against Jake Paul. While showing his support for Jake Paul, He stated, “Jake is a dog, but I can never bet against a Diaz brother. That’s just how I was raised.”

The amount may be relatively meager for someone like him, but fans continue to drill the rapper for his picks. Drake betting on Nate Diaz could be the final nail in the coffin, with many fans expecting a KO win for Jake Paul.
