Detroit Tigers vs Atlanta Braves Prediction 6-13-23 MLB Picks

The Atlanta Braves and the Detroit Tigers meet Tuesday in MLB action from Comerica Park. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. In the Monday opener, the Tigers eked out a close victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves took on the Nationals this past weekend, winning two of three games. On Monday versus Detroit, Atlanta blew a 4-0 lead and ended up falling 6-5. Starter Charlie Morton put up 5.1 innings with four hits and three walks.

For the starter job Tuesday it’ll be Atlanta’s Spencer Strider. In his 13 starts so far Strider is 6-2 with a 3.79 ERA and 121 Ks in 73.2 innings. Strider is 18-7 with a 3.08 ERA in 46 career games (33 starts).

Detroit Tigers

Over on the Tigers’ side, they fell to the Diamondbacks in a three-game sweep over the weekend. On Monday Detroit got the walk-off win in the 10th thanks to 15 team hits. Starting pitcher Mason Englert managed 2.2 innings, one earned, three hits and a walk.

Reese Olson will take the mound for the Tigers on Tuesday. This year in his two games and one start (the first games of his career) Olson is 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA and nine Ks in 10.0 innings.

The Braves are 68-23 in their last 91 versus a team with a losing record and 38-14 in their last 52 Tuesday games. Atlanta is 38-14 in their last 52 in game two of a series.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 1-10 in their last 11 in game two of a series and 1-4 in their last five Tuesday games. The under is 7-1 in Detroit’s last eight Tuesday games.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably stick with the Braves in this one. The line's too thick to mess with, though. Strider needs a good bounce-back effort, though. In his last start versus the Mets on June 8, Strider put up eight earned on eight hits and two walks in 4.0 innings. He’d been pitching well before that, though. On Monday Atlanta fell apart late and had a bad ninth inning (giving up three runs). That one’s going to be tough to shake off, but I like Atlanta to bounce back in game two.
