Dubai World Cup Carnival Week 4 Tips January 27

We've taken a look through the full card and picked out our best betting tips on week four of the 2023 Dubai World Cup Carnival.

Race 2 - Dubai Sprint Tips

Following a solid runner-up finish behind stablemate Lazuli on his return to Dubai, this Listed race is MAN OF PROMISE'S to lose.

Charlie Appleby's six-year-old beat Lazuli to win this race 12 months ago, before clocking a superb RPR of 119 when thrashing A Case Of You in the Nad Al Sheba. A Case Of You then turned Man Of Promise over when the latter carried odds of 10/11 into the Al Quoz Sprint and William Buick's mount hasn't won since, but I still expect Man Of Promise will be far too good for this inferior field on Friday.

Race 3 - Longines Handicap Tips

I'm very keen on the chances of WITHERING, who ran several good races over this course-and-distance curing his three-year-old campaign last term. Fawzi Abdulla Nass's star won a valuable conditions race and finished second from off the pace in a Listed contest back in March, before finding life much harder in the UAE Derby on Dubai World Cup night.

Withering made his return to action on turf earlier this month and ran a lovely race, finishing just a length behind the 6/5 favourite off an opening handicap mark of 97. Adrie de Vries mount has only been upped two pounds for that effort and returning to the dirt has to be seen as a plus. If he can navigate a smooth passage out of stall one, I fancy Withering will take plenty of beating.

Race 5 - Zabeel Turf Tips

£50k will be handed out to the winning connections of this handicap and the boys in blue play a particularly strong hand. The least-fancied of the four Godolphin runners is six-year-old BRILLIANT LIGHT, who boasts plenty of experience running at this venue - unlike the three four-year-olds sitting ahead of him in the market.

Saeed bin Suroor's charge placed in a couple of Graded races during the 2021 carnival, losing out by just a length in the Nad Al Sheba Trophy. Brilliant Light returns to Meydan running off 96, a mark he ran very well off in the John Smith's Cup and again at Glorious Goodwood during the summer.

Race 8 - Longines Record Collection Handicap Tips

THE ATTORNEY could give an excellent account of himself on debut Salem bin Ghadayer. This son of Kodiac was in excellent form during the turf season with Charlie Hills, beating the talented Air To Air at Doncaster, in-between strong-placed efforts at Newmarket and Goodwood off a similar mark to what he carries today.

The Attorney won two of his four all-weather starts in England, placing on the other two occasions. If he can get off to a fast start from stall one, Mickael Barzalona will fancy his chances.
