England next manager odds: Pep Guardiola 10/1 for Three Lions role after HUGE rush of bets overnight, Potter favourite

PEP GUARDIOLA is BANG in the mix for the England job.

That's according to bookmakers Sky Bet, who've adjusted their betting market following claims Gareth Southgate could walk after next summer's European Championship in Germany.

There were similar reports heading into year's World Cup, though Southgate decided to remain in charge and will spearhead England's EURO 2024 campaign.

The Daily Mail claim FA chiefs are keeping their options open, while reporting that FA technical director John McDermott met with colleagues to discuss potential successors prior to Qatar.

It's said that the FA are 'open' to exploring a move for Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, who's seen as a 'dream' appointment by some at English football's governing body.

Sky Bet have responded by slashing Guardiola's odds from 40/1+ to just 10/1 after a rush of bets overnight.

However, there is a stumbling block with the Spaniard contracted at the Etihad Stadium until June 2025, meaning an interim would be needed to cover the start of World Cup qualification.

Eddie Howe, Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino were all considered the last time Southgate was tipped to leave.

So it's no surprise to see free agent Potter leading the market at 7/1.

The Englishman's stock remains high after a successful three-year spell at Brighton despite lasting less than seven months at Stamford Bridge.

Eddie Howe is second-favourite at 8/1, locked together with Under-21 manager Lee Carsley, who led England to European Championship success.

Manager of the Lionesses, Sarina Wiegman could be under consideration for the role and is 10/1 to become the first female manager of the England Men's national team.
