Eva's Oskar Grand National Odds & Betting Profile

Eva's Oskar is a nine-year-old gelding trained by Tim Vaughan and is set to run in the 2023 Grand National at Aintree on Saturday 15th April. We profile the grey horse here and look at his form statistics, pedigree and a whole lot more for what should be an interesting runner from at the bottom of the weights...

Age: 9

Trainer: Tim Vaughan

Chase Runs: 15

Chase Wins: 3

Eva's Oskar will attempt to become the first grey since Neptune Collonges in 2012 to win the Grand National and the Tim Vaughan-trained nine-year-old is an intriguing contender for the Aintree feature on April 15. A solid handicap chaser, Eva's Oskar is at the bottom of the handicap for this event and a big price in the Grand National Odds, but the solid jumper looks like a runner that will relish the test of the National and is an eye-catching runner.

A winner in three of his 15 chases, Eva's Oskar started off this season with a sixth placed finish at Kelso, while he built on that effort significantly on his second start when finishing second at Cheltenham in November. Returning to Prestbury Park a month later, Eva's Oskar bagged his first win of the season as he got the better of Spiritofthegames in a pulsating finish over 3m 2f. Winning off a mark of 140 that day, he was upped 3lbs for his next outing at Sandown, but he could only finish sixth off 143 in a hugely competitive event.

Sent to Newcastle next time out for the Eider Chase over four miles, Eva's Oskar ran a mighty race until tiring in the closing stages, but the galloping grey did manage to pick up fourth place, which is decent staying handicap chase form. He runs off the same mark of 142 for the Grand National, so he has to be given a second look when compiling your Grand National Tips, but he faces a bunch of classy rivals here and it will be a tough ask for him in what looks a fabulous renewal.

Sire: Shirocco
