Ex-Yankees outfielder signs with Mets
Tim Locastro will play for the Mets. He played for Yankees in 2022. Locastsro played 38 games in the majors in that season, hitting just .186. Last year he played in Triple-A and hit .240 with a .727 OPS.
Omar Minaya will join the Yankees front office as a senior advisor to baseball operations. Minay played for the Diamondbacks, Dodgers and Yankees.
Minaya, 64, joins the Yankees with almost four decades of front office experience. He spent the last year as an amateur scouting consultant for Major League Baseball. Minaya also spent six seasons with the New York Mets, serving as a Special Assistant to the General Manager from 2017-20 and a Mets Ambassador from 2020-22.
