F1 betting: Get the best Las Vegas Grand Prix odds

FORMULA ONE is heading back to Las Vegas for the first time since 1982, on a brand new track under the lights of the Sin City strip on Sunday, November 19.

The street track is brand new for the 2023 season, which means no historical data to go off. The unstoppable Max Verstappen and Red Bull have the championships sewn up already, but the race for second between Sergio Perez and Lewis Hamliton is far from over.

We’re covering everything you need to know about how to bet on this weekend, including a guide to the latest Las Vegas Grand Prix odds available right now.

Check out the list of the top ten favourites for the Las Vegas Grand Prix below. Don’t forget that all of these odds are subject to change:

  • Max Verstappen 1/4 Sky Bet
  • Lando Norris 8/1 BetUK
  • Charles Leclerc 16/1 bet365
  • Lewis Hamilton 18/1 bet365
  • Carlos Sainz 20/1 Sky Bet
  • Sergio Perez 22/1 Sky Bet
  • George Russell 40/1 bet365
  • Oscar Piastri 80/1 bet365
  • Fernando Alonso 50/1 Sky Bet
  • Pierre Gasly 150/1 BetUK

There are loads of different ways to bet on the Las Vegas Grand Prix, as there are for all major F1 races throughout the season. Obviously, betting on the winner of the race is always going to be the most popular market, but when you’ve got one Dutch guy winning every week it kinda loses its appeal pretty quickly.

Fortunately, the Formula 1 betting markets at UK sportsbooks let you bet on all kinds of other parts of the race, including betting markets which basically remove Max Verstappen from the equation. You can bet on specific drivers head-to-head in a matchup, prop bets on things like safety cars, or futures on which driver will finish second in the overall standings.

We’re going to go in-depth on the specific markets for Vegas further down the page, but here you can see a list of the most common F1 bets in general:

  • Winner
  • Podium Finish
  • Points Finish
  • Practice Session
  • Fastest Qualifier
  • Top 6
  • Fastest Lap
  • Winning Team
  • Winning Margin
  • First Driver to Retire
  • First Team to Retire
  • Safety Car
  • Head-to-heads

No one! 2023 is the first year the event is taking place, on a brand new street track under the lights.

This race has never been held before. Formula 1 did make it to Vegas before back in 1981 and 1982 for two editions of what was called the Caesars Palace Grand Prix, but they were on a different track from a different era.

Next up, we’re taking a look at some of the most popular ways to bet on the Las Vegas Grand Prix this Sunday, along with the latest odds from a selection of top UK sportsbooks.

All year long this betting market has been quite rightly dominated by Max Verstappen, and he’s the big favourite in Vegas again. On his own behind Max is Lando Norris, a man in red hot form with four second place finishes in his last six races. He’s running out of time to get a W this year, and the unknown territory of Las Vegas is as good a place as any.

  • Max Verstappen 1/4 Sky Bet
  • Lando Norris 8/1 BetUK
  • Charles Leclerc 16/1 bet365
  • Lewis Hamilton 18/1 bet365
  • Carlos Sainz 20/1 Sky Bet
  • Sergio Perez 22/1 Sky Bet
  • George Russell 40/1 bet365
  • Oscar Piastri 80/1 bet365
  • Fernando Alonso 50/1 Sky Bet
  • Pierre Gasly 150/1 BetUK

Betting on a podium finish is like a triple chance bet. Your chosen driver just has to finish first, second or third - in any of the positions - for you to win your bet. It’s a good beginners bet for that reason, but the odds for the favoured drivers are significantly less favourable than if you’re just betting on a straight win.

Max’s dominance also kind of distorts the odds in this market, but the handful of drivers just behind him are all extremely capable of finishing on the podium and there is genuine value in their odds. Check them out below:

  • Max Verstappen 1/7 Sky Bet
  • Lando Norris 1/2 bet365
  • Charles Leclerc 13/8 Sky Bet
  • Lewis Hamilton 2/1 BetUK
  • Carlos Sainz 2/1 BetUK

If a podium finish is a triple chance, betting on the winning constructor is a double chance bet. To win, either driver from the team of your choice has to win the race.

Red Bull have been strong favourites in this category all year, and it’s the same story here. It’s the first time out at the new track in Las Vegas, so we don’t know a lot about how the cars will perform. However, the long straights and slow-ish corners look like they should favour the most powerful car - which is Red Bull.

  • Aston Martin 50/1 Sky Bet

Simply a bet on which driver records the fastest lap of the race. Verstappen is still the favourite here, and you would have to think the long straights in the track will be a big advantage for Red Bull, but it’s certainly not a sure thing. Behind Max, you can throw a blanket over the next four drivers and make a pretty convincing case for all of them.

  • Max Verstappen 7/10 BetUK
  • Lando Norris 9/1 bet365
  • Lewis Hamilton 9/1 Sky Bet
  • Charles Leclerc 9/1 Sky Bet
  • Carlos Sainz 9/1 bet365

Head-to-heads are where you can get really specific and just focus on the drivers you want to bet on, without worrying about the wider race. Effectively, the bookmaker lets you create an imaginary two horse race, so that your chosen driver just has to beat his opponent for you to win your bet.

It’s a great way to create action on bubbling rivalries between drivers, and to find 50/50 bets at close to even money, which is how some people prefer to bet.

  • Charles Leclerc 4/6 vs Carlos Sainz 6/5 (BetUK)
  • Lando Norris 4/11 vs Oscar Piastri 2/1 (Sky Bet)
  • Lewis Hamilton 4/6 vs George Russell 6/5 (BetUK)

The 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix is the first edition of the race, and it already feels like an outlier on the calendar. The glitz and glamour have been turned up to 11 before the drivers have even got on the track, including a Kylie Mionoge performance at the lavish opening ceremony, and parties in the luxury hotels that dot the strip.

Not everyone is totally enamoured - Verstappen has described the pomp as “99% show and 1% sporting event” - but there is undoubtedly a special feeling around the build-up. The unknown element of the brand-new track - which goes right down the strip - is another interesting extra. In terms of spectacle, it’s already the race of the year.

It all depends, both on your budget and how you want to bet.

If you’re brand new to F1 betting, a No Deposit Bonus or a free Bonus Bet when you sign up is the ideal way to test the waters without worrying about breaking the bank. If you’re a more consistent bettor, you might prefer a Deposit Match Bonus, which becomes more valuable the more of your own money you spend up front.

There are also F1 specials out there, including odds boosts for preselected bets and money-back specials depending on the outcome of the race.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is the penultimate race of the year, with the final race taking place in Abu Dhabi on November 26.

You certainly can. Formula 1 is perhaps the ultimate live betting sport. A lot can change in an instant with cars zooming around the track at hundreds of miles per hour, especially when you throw in the unpredictability of a new track in Las Vegas. It’s a sneakily tactical sport too, and a bad pit strategy can torpedo a driver’s chances out of the blue.

All of this means lots of opportunities to bet live, and to capitalise on what you can foresee before the odds change.

No. If you want to watch the Las Vegas Grand Prix in the UK, you’ll need to tune into Sky Sports F1 at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning. The race begins at 6am, so get the coffee ready.

We get asked for betting advice a lot, and we always respond with the same number one tip. It requires no real expertise, minimal effort and absolutely anyone can do it now. That tip is: shop around for the best odds. Here are three of our favourite F1 bookmakers that should be on your radar:

According to most public data, bet365 is the most popular bookmaker in the UK - for good reason. It has an incredible range of betting markets, including lots of highly technical bets you won’t find at the more run-of-the-mill bookies. The software is very detailed and packed with extra features, including stats and results for the best sports. Its odds are second to none either.

BetUK is another great bookie, which regularly has the most competitive F1 odds in the UK. Compared with bet365, it's an overall simpler bookmaker in terms of the design and range of features. It’s arguably a better choice for beginners, and placing bets online is very easy.

Finally, a special mention for Spreadex, a newer gambling platform that combines sports betting with elements of financial trading. Their novel twist on betting against the spread is a breath of fresh air in an industry that can sometimes feel samey, bookmaker to bookmaker. You can stick to traditional betting too if you prefer, and Spreadex has excellent odds on a variety of Formula 1 markets.
