Falcons vs. Titans Week 8: How to Watch, Betting Odds

The Atlanta Falcons head to Nashville to take on the Titans in somewhat of a reunion weekend for Falcons coach Arthur Smith. Smith was on the Tennessee coaching staff for 10 seasons before making his way to Atlanta. This weekend, Smith and other Houston Oilers and Titans alumni gather in Nashville to celebrate the past.

But it's not just Smith that will enjoy the trip down memory lane. The group includes six coaches, a former Tennessee general manager who's now Atlanta's senior personnel executive and five Falcons. For them, this game means more.

“You try to pretend that it doesn’t, but you know obviously it does,” Smith said.

Entering Sunday, Tennessee has lost 11 of its last 13 games as coach Mike Vrabel continues to search for a replacement for Smith as offensive coordinator. Vrabel is on his second offensive coordinator since Smith left for the Falcons in 2021. The Titans are 2-4 and coming off their bye and have lost two in a row.

Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill is nursing a high ankle sprain, and if he can't play, rookie Will Levis will likely make his first career start. Levis could split playing time with Malik Willis, who is 1-2 as a starter.

“We’ll need both of them to help us win,” Vrabel said. “The Falcons are doing some really good things.”
