FAMU Football: Chili Davis excited to represent share knowledge to AFCA

Chili Davis will present at the 2023 American Football Coaches' Association convention. The convention will take place from Jan. 8-10 in Charlotte, North Carolina. It will feature coaches from all divisions of college football and high school coaches. FAMU head coach Willie Simmons and the rest of his staff will also be present. The AFCA will help football playcallers with professional development.

Davis will present his coaching philosophy and rise up the coaching ladder to explain his appointment at FAMU. He will also show the special teams philosophy. Davis has been a coach at Campbell, Louisiana Tech, Fordham, New Mexico State, and Washington. He helped LouisianaTech win the 2015 New Orleans Bowl as an offensive assistant with running backs. Two years later, he won the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl with NewMexico State. In his first year with FAMu, punter Chris Faddoul and kicker Jose Romo-Martinez were named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference's first team.

Davis played and coached special teams during his college football career. Now he is a special team coach at FAMU. He is proud to represent FAMu and its football program. He will be on national television before the AFCA beginning on Sunday. The team's players congratulated him. Davis is happy to be a spokesperson for FAM U. It means a lot to him to them.
