FanDuel posts wild odds on the Celtics to go undefeated at home

The Boston Celtics are looking to become the first team in NBA history to finish a season undefeated on their home floor.

And yes, you can bet on it happening.

FanDuel Sportsbook has the Celts pegged at 60/1 to go 41-0 in Boston during the regular season, something no team has done in NBA history.

The Celtics have started the season 19-0 at home with 21 games to go, their best start in Beantown since the franchise’s founding.

Boston is already just the 13th team in NBA history to win 19 or more straight home games to start a season, joining some of the most iconic basketball teams of all time.

The 2015-16 San Antonio Spurs, who won 39 straight before losing their first game at home, hold the record for the longest streak to open a season.

As you can imagine, the Celtics have been utterly dominant by the numbers at home.

Their +15.6 Net Rating at the TD Garden is 4.5 points better than the second-best home team in the league (Oklahoma City Thunder).

They’ve won 11 of their 19 home games by double-digits and just two games by three or fewer points.

Overall, the Celtics hold the best record in the league at 31-9 and No. 1 Net Rating (+9.8) as the NBA hits the halfway point.

On Wednesday night, the Celtics will host the Spurs, who, at 7-32, are one of the worst teams in basketball.

Boston is a 15-point favorite, which, if it holds, would be tied as the second-largest spread for the Celtics this season.

The Celtics’ next big test at home will come Friday against the defending NBA Champion Denver Nuggets.

Later this month, Boston will host the Clippers and then, a few days later, the Pelicans and Pacers in a back-to-back.

While any team can win on any given night in the NBA, if the Celtics can survive that gauntlet and make it to February without a home loss, they’ll have a few weeks until their next true test against the 76ers on Feb. 27.

But with games against the Suns, Bucks, and Thunder coming in March and April, an undefeated finish won’t come easy, just as NBA history has shown.
