FOOTBALL fans mistook Bear Grylls for Mark Clattenburg after the adventurer appeared on Channel 4's coverage of England vs Ukraine.

The TV star provided a quick interview during the Three Lions' 2-0 win.

Grylls was promoting his upcoming interview with Ukrainian President Zelensky.

Fans hilariously thought he looked exactly like former Prem ref Mark Clattenburg and joked about the similarities between the pair.

One said: "Has Bear Grylls and Mark Clattenberg been seen in the same room together?"

Another quipped: "Bear Grylls wannabe."

Someone else, who was duped into thinking it was actually Clattenberg, added: "Why does he look like he's about to try and survive a week in the Amazon rainforest?"

A fourth wrote: "Bear Grylls? I thought it was Mark Clattenburg."

And another commented: "He now looks like the love child of Bear Grylls and Wayne Lineker."

Bear Grylls recently travelled to Ukraine to meet Zelensky and his interview with the president is set to air on Tuesday.

"One of love, respect, teamwork and endeavour. #united #standfirm #nevergiveup WARZONE: Bear Grylls Meets President Zelensky that airs Tuesday 8pm @channel4."

Meanwhile Clattenburg is enjoying a spell out of the game after leaving his role as head of refereeing in Egypt due to safety fears after threats from fans.

Mansour has been critical of Clattenburg’s role in Egyptian football and made false claims about the ex-ref's split from his wife.
