Finals fever taking over the region

Finals fever is taking over the region. Bundaberg Rugby League premiers were crowned. Other codes prepare for their grand final match ups.

Hervey Bay Seagulls beat Past Brothers 32-14 in the Rugby League Bundaberg Broadcasters A Grade Premiership Grand Final. Second rower Max Shorter won the Les Somerville Medal for the Best and Fairest. The Seags broke a six-year drought. Brothers were beaten by Hervey Seals in last year's Preliminary Final 34- 14. The Brethren came back to level the scores with tries from Connor Jones and Benaiah Kambanei. Ben Hudson scored the winning try for Hervely Bay.

Brothers Bulldogs beat Bay Power 8.9 (57) to 7.5 (47) in the semi-final of the Wide Bay Marquis Macadamias Senior Men’s Premiership. Brothers also beat the Power in Under-14 Mixed and Under 12 Mixed. Dylan Keam played his 150th game for the club. Hervey Bay Bombers will play Brothers in Grand Finals day this Saturday.

Cities were knocked out of the Division 1 Men's Major semi-final by All Blacks. Raiders/Rovers triumphed in four Major Semi-finals, including beating Arrows/Athletics in Division 2 Women and beating All Black's in the Minor Semi.

Waves Gold beat Brothers Hurricanes 60-40 in the Division 1 Preliminary Final at the Superpark on Saturday. Waves teams were also victorious in Divisions 6 and 9. Brothers will be represented in eight grand finals.

All 11 of Bundaberg's football representatives played well for the Football Queensland Wide Bay Men's All-Stars in their trial match in Hervey Bay on Saturday. Catch-up games were played across the divisions to complete the WideBay Leagues home and away season on Sunday. United Park Eagles completed a disappointing season by beating Doon Villa 4-2.

Under-17 Boys beat Atw Eagles by 0.1 points, Under Under 18 Boys won by 2.5 points and Under 12 Boys defeated HERVEY BAY BOMBERS by 9.10 points in Under 14 MIXED.

FQPL WB U23 MEN beat DOON VILLA 2-0. FQ PL WB WU15 U15 girls beat ATW 2. BAV beat B AV 0. BARGARA STINGRAYS beat GIN GINE 1.

Finals fever is taking over the region. U11s, U13s and U16s have played hockey finals. Waves Cities lost to Waves Athletics. Arrows Athletics Blue went through to Grand Final on goal average. Division 1 Women's semi-final: Raiders Rovers 3 (Reegan Wightman, Minka Elliott, Susan Kendall, Malanie Stehbens) defeated All Blacks 3. Division 2 Men's minor semi final: Arrows Athletic 6 (Jake McCaig, Owen Scherer, Keith Scherer, Paul Green, Harrison Gardiner, Lewis Dexter) beat Waves cities 2-1.

There were rugby league finals in the region. Hervey bay seagulls beat PAST BROTHERS 34-14. Reserves won 22-20 over Hervey bay school. Wallaros won 50-50 over PADDY BROTHER'S.

WAVES 12, WAVS 22, BUNDER-15 and Under-14 won the championships. WESTS 30, Wallaros 16 and HERVEY BAY SEAGULLS 4 won Under Under 13.
