Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix Review

Max Verstappen won the Italian Grand Prix in his Red Bull RB-18. Sergio Perez finished in P6. Ferrari finished P2 and P4. Mercedes’ George Russell finished on the podium P3. Lewis Hamilton finished 5th. Red Bulls can clinch the 2022 F1 World Championship by the end of the next Grand prix in Singapore.

Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Sainz, Perez, and Hamilton qualified on pole position for the Italian Grand Prix. Red Bull had a clear advantage in the corners and ran higher downforce than their rivals. The other drivers on the grid started the race in a different position.

Verstappen started from P7 and had a 20.078 second lead over Leclerc on lap 36. Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton overtook Daniel Ricciardo at the start of lap 37. Riciardo's car suffered an oil leak on the lap 45 and he had to retire. The Italian Grand Prix ended behind a safety car.

Nick de Vries finished P9 in his Formula 1 debut at the Italian Grand Prix. He was called into replace Alex Albon at Williams. De Vry is a former Formula 2 and Formula E champion. Next up on the Formula One calendar is the Singapore Grand prix from September 30th to October 2nd. Lewis Hamilton is preparing for the race. His Mercedes W-09 from 2018 is on track. It's one of the few remaining nighttime events.
