Frankie Dettori will go into final year ‘with as good ammunition as he has ever had’

Frankie Dettori is retiring after a successful career. Jamie McCalmont is the racing manager to one of his main backers, owner Marc Chan. They have known each other for over 30 years. Dittori will start his final year at Santa Anita on Monday. He will be there on Boxing Day and will stay through the winter. He has been a regular in the silks of Chan in recent years, striking in Group One contests at both ParisLongchamp and on British Champions Day. Ralph Beckett-trained Kinross will return as a six-year-old to fly the flag for the Chan operation. There are a whole host of talented youngsters, including champion two-time champion filly Lezoo.
