Gamely Stakes guide: Odds, pace projection, preview, more
The Gamely Stakes is the first race of Monday's 10-race card at Santa Anita. The Phil D’Amato-trained Going Global is morning-line favorite for the $400,000 turf event. There are two other Grade 1 races on the card: the Hollywood Gold Cup Stake (G1) at 5:47 p.m. EDT and the Shoemaker Mile Staking ( G1), at 6:18 p., EDT.

Eddie's New Dream (Ben Cecil, Mario Gutierrez) is 12-1 favorite for the Gamely Stakes.
Eddie's New Dream is projected to go out to the early lead under jockey Mario Gutierrez. England's Rose is 15-1 favorite.
There are several graded stakes taking place on Monday across the U.S. All post times are EDT.
Sconsin (6-5) makes her first start since winning the Open Mind Stakes on Sept. 18. Include (5-1) is a Grade 2 winner who took last year's Winning Colors. Novel Squall ( 5-2) exits a Keeneland allowance win April 28. Li’l Tootsie (4-11) ran sixth April 2 at Oaklawn Park in the Carousel Stake.
Royal Ship (6-5) starts his 6-year-old season at Santa Anita by winning the John Shear Mile Stakes. Jockey Mike Smith will ride Midshipman gelding (7-4) in the Hollywood Gold Cup Stake (G1) at 5:47 p.m. Ed Moger Jr. trains Stilleto Boy ( 7-6) who won the Californian St. ( G2) on April 30. Defunded (3-1), trained by Sean McCarthy, won a Santa Monica allowance race May 8.
Smooth Like Strait is aiming to take this Win and You're In qualifier for November's Breeders' Cup Mile. Jockey Flavien Prat will be up on the 5-year-old son of Midnight Lute for trainer Michael McCarthy. Phil D’Amato trains Count Again (5-2), a Grade 1 winner who finished sixth in the Maker”s Mark Mile Stakes (G1). Masteroffoxhounds ( 5/1) was runner-up April 30 at Santa Anita in Charles Whittingham Stake ( G2).
Shaaz (2-1) makes his stakes debut Monday for trainer Sean McCarthy. Uncle Mo colt won a Santa Anita allowance race April 2. Mish (7-2) has won three races in a row. Rated R Superstar (10-3) is looking to bounce back from a seventh-place showing April 23.
