Georgia vs Florida prediction, picks: College Football odds

It's time for the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, otherwise known as the Florida-Georgia football rivalry. TIAA Bank Field will play host to the 103rd all-time meeting between these two historic rivals. All eyes will be on the top-ranked Bulldogs as they face perhaps their biggest test to date in the Gators.

The conference clash is set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT from Jacksonville, Florida. CBS will carry the national broadcast with Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson on the call.

Caesars Sportsbook, the official odds partner of Bet.NOLA.com, has the Bulldogs laying more than two touchdowns with the over/under set at 49 total points.

Let's take a closer look at the odds, highlight some picks and a make prediction for this Southeastern Conference showdown:

Florida Gatorsvs. Georgia Bulldogs

Time/TV: Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (CBS)

Spread: Georgia -14.5

Over/Under: 49

Moneyline: Georgia -550, Florida +400

TOP PICK

Georgia-Florida OVER 49 total points (-110 at Caesars Sportsbook)

It's been the same old stuff surrounding Georgia all season long again this season. "The Bulldogs don't win convincingly" or "Georgia doesn't play anybody," give me a break.

Has nobody learned by now?

Kirby Smart and Co. seemingly coast through the regular season campaign, only putting their foot on the gas pedal when it matters most. We saw what the Bulldogs are capable of a few weeks ago when they hung a half hundred on the Kentucky Wildcats.

Georgia is perfectly capable of reaching the 49-point total on its own if it so chooses. Florida has managed to score 10+ points in every game this season and 20+ in every contest except for two. Any contribution from the Gators will be appreciated, but Georgia should blow the brakes off Florida en route to a big win that sees them score early and often.

Prediction: Georgia 41, Florida 20

OTHER PICKS

Georgia -14.5 vs. Florida (-110 at Caesars Sportsbook)

Does anybody remember the last time this rivalry played a relatively competitive game? It's been four years. These contests have not been close recently. The last three winners have won games by an average of more than three touchdowns. One score has separated these two sides twice in the last decade.

Therefore, if we're picking a winner, trends tell us we should also predict a blowout. Georgia is the No. 1 team in the land and the winner of five of the last six meetings between these two historic rivals. The Bulldogs don't seem eager to surrender control of the SEC East anytime soon, we like them to lay the points.

Daijun Edwards OVER 87.5 rushing yards (-119 at Caesars Sportsbook)

Just two weeks ago, Florida allowed Kentucky running back Re'Mahn Davis to enter his name into the Heisman Trophy race. Davis racked up an astonishing 280 yards on just 26 carries. He added three touchdowns for good measure to truly finish off an abysmal Florida rush defense.

The same Gators front cannot possibly have fixed all of its defensive issues in a month's time. Therefore, Daijun Edwards seems like a lock to rush for 100+ yards. He averages 92 yards per game on the season already, good for 5.8 yards per carry. Edwards' success is all but assured given the incredible offensive line in front of him.

Georgia will likely look to play bully ball and expose Florida with its aggressive ground attack. I'm not too sure the Gators can do anything to stop it either.
