Giants vs Angels, Prediction, Odds & Best Bets

Two teams from California face off in Los Angeles as the Angels host the Giants in game two of a three game series.

Last night the Giants came from behind in dramatic fashion to beat the Angels.

Los Angeles led 3-2 going into the 9th when San Francisco exploded for 6 runs in the top of the inning to steal the victory from the home team.

Lucas Giolito is on the mound for Los Angeles, and he has not looked great in his first two starts as an Angel.

So far he is 0-2, pitching just 9 combined innings in two games. He’s allowed 14 hits and 12 ER, including 5 total HR and 4 walks.

Giolito’s numbers do not look in an Angel uniform so far.

Will he turn it around tonight? Or will the Giants steal another win in their quest for the NL West?

Giants vs Angels Prediction & Best Bets

Giolito has looked horrendous in an Angel uniform so far.

And I really don’t see him improving tonight.

San Francisco strikes out plenty against RHP, in fact they’re Bottom 5 in the MLB in K%. So Giolito might get his strikeouts, but that doesn’t mean he won’t get shelled.

I’ve got a prop of his that I’m targeting that I will talk about in just a little bit, but let’s talk about the Giants pitcher.

Scott Alexander is a bullpen guy, but he clearly gets the run support he needs. His 6-1 record as a long reliever is note worthy especially in just 4 starts.

The Angels are one of the worst hitting teams in baseball at home, so I like this Giants bullpen to shut them down all game.

Player Props

Lucas Giolito Over 4.5 Hits Allowed (-136) Bovada

I’ve already given you his horrendous stats as an Angel, but let’s talk about this season as a whole.

Giolito has allowed 5+ hits in 70% of starts this year. Wow.

He’s also given up 4+ in two other contests. Giolito averages 95 pitches per start this year, but only 80 as an Angel.

He’s cleared this line in 4 straight starts, and I expect the Giants hitters to light him up tonight.

I’m more than willing to pay this juice for 5+ hits.

Randal Grichuk over 0.5 Base (-152) Bovada

We’re doing it. We’re paying the juiceman, and Grichuk is going to come through for us.

He has at least 1 base in 74% of games this season. He’s cleared in 77% of his L30, and 17 of his L21 (81%).

Grichuk had a triple last night and bats .359 against lefties this year.

In his last 10 games, Grichuk has cleared in 7 games, and totals 21 bases in that stretch.

Since joining Los Angeles, Grichuk bats .233 with 7 hits, 2 HR and 2 RBIs in just 8 games.

I like him to continue to be a silver lining in this disappointing Angel season.
