Giants vs. Padres prediction and odds for Sunday, Sept. 3 (San Diego wins NL West series)

The San Diego Padres aren't completely out of the playoffs just quite yet and clinching a series win against the San Francisco Giants today would be a great step in the right direction.

It's a holiday weekend so let's all sit back and put down a few dollars on this pivotal NL West matchup. If you;'re going to do exactly that, I'd recommend doing so at DraftKings Sportsbook! For a limited time, you can earn $200 in bonus bets just by placing a $5 bet on any sport! It's really that easy.

Now, let's dive into the betting odds for today's big game.

The Giants offense has been arguably the worst in Major League Baseball since the All-Star Break, yet they've continued to find ways to win games. That is going to start to change sooner rather than later. It's tough to continue to win games when your bats are as cold as the Giants' have been.

Dating back to the All-Star Game, the Giants are dead last in the Majors in both batting average (.218) and OPS (.638). Meanwhile, the Padres rank 15th (.249) and 12th (.753) in those two respective stats over the same time frame. Those numbers aren't anything to write home about, sure, but they're a heck of a lot better than what the Giants are posting.

Seth Lugo gets the start for the Padres today and he's been on fire in recent starts. Over his last four outings, he has posted a 1.57 ERA, allowing a combined four earned runs.

San Diego is the betting favorite today and for get reason. I'm more than willing to back them on the moneyline at -135 odds.

Odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
