Giants vs. Padres prediction and odds for Sunday, Sept. 3 (San Diego wins NL West series)

The San Diego Padres aren't completely out of the playoffs just quite yet and clinching a series win against the San Francisco Giants today would be a great step in the right direction.

The Giants offense has been arguably the worst in Major League Baseball since the All-Star Break, yet they've continued to find ways to win games. That is going to start to change sooner rather than later. It's tough to continue to win games when your bats are as cold as the Giants' have been.

Dating back to the All-Star Game, the Giants are dead last in the Majors in both batting average (.218) and OPS (.638). Meanwhile, the Padres rank 15th (.249) and 12th (.753) in those two respective stats over the same time frame. Those numbers aren't anything to write home about, sure, but they're a heck of a lot better than what the Giants are posting.
