Giants vs Rockies Prediction

The San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies will face off in divisional action this week from Coors Field.

Giants Betting Preview

San Francisco comes in at 29-30 after dropping two of three to Baltimore. The Giants have now dropped four of their last five, and they’ll look to avoid skidding further here. The San Francisco offense is scoring 4.81 runs per game, while batting .245, with a .317 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.97 ERA, with a 1.29 WHIP. Mike Conforto has produced a run in six of  his last eight games, and he leads the team in HR (11), with 28 RBI. J.D. Davis recorded multiple hits in two of three games against Pittsburgh, and he’s up to a team-lead 30 RBI.

John Brebbia (2-0, 3.80 ERA, 33 Ks) will begin the game for San Francisco. The right-handed reliever has been pretty reliable for the Giants this season through 25 appearances. Brebbia has only allowed a run in two of his last twelve outings, but this will be his first time at Coors this season.

Rockies Betting Preview

Colorado moved to 26-35 after taking two of three Kansas City. The Rockies nearly completed the sweep before being silenced in the series finale, and they’ll look to shake up the division this week with home sets against San Fran and San Diego looming. The Colorado offense is scoring 4.5 runs per game, while batting .256, with a .317 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.70 ERA, with a 1.43 WHIP. Dinelson Lamet (1-2, 13.17 ERA, 43 Ks) will pitch for Colorado. The sixth-year reliever was blown up in his return from the DL, giving up five runs in just three innings pitched.

San Francisco vs Colorado Trends

San Francisco is 34-22 against the spread this season, with a 29-24-3 O/U record. Colorado is 28-39 ATS this year, with a 26-28-2 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

It’s hard to approach a bullpen start at Coors, so I like giving the host an opportunity to compete with the visitors here in game one. Colorado improved in the month of May, and with this week being full of divisional matchups at home, look for them to compete with an edge, starting here in game one. Spot the Rockies the runs for safety.
