Rockies vs Dodgers Prediction

The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Colorado Rockies for game three of their divisional series this Friday from Dodger Stadium. Los Angeles took game three after getting a strong outing from Tony Gonsolin, 4-1.

Rockies Preview & Projected Starter

Colorado moved to 45-72 after falling to Los Angeles. The Rockies dropped their fourth straight game last night, and they’ll look to avoid being swept here in division play. The Colorado offense is scoring 4.5 runs per game, while batting .256, with a .317 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.70 ERA, with a 1.43 WHIP.

Kyle Freeland (4-12, 4.84 ERA, 76 Ks) will pitch for Colorado. The seventh-year lefty turned in a quality start in Milwaukee last week, holding the Brew Crew to three runs over six innings. Freeland got off to a great start this season, but it’s melted as playing at Coors has taken its toll. Freeland’s last outing against the Dodgers didn’t go well, as he gave up six runs thru five innings en route to a Rockies loss, and he’ll face another uphill battle here in LA.

Rockies Player Trends & Props

Ryan McMahon has produced a run in six of the last eight games,  and he leads Colorado in hits (102), home runs (18), and RBI (57).

Elias Diaz has multiple hits in four of his last six appearances, and he’s posting splits behind the plate of .277/10/50.

Ezequiel Tovar collected a pair of hits in the game one victory, and he’s posting an identical line of .257/10/47.

Dodgers Preview & Projected Starter

Los Angeles moved to 70-46 after defeating Colorado. The Dodgers have capitalized on the light matchup this weekend, and they’ll aim to pin a seventh straight victory Sunday. The Los Angeles offense is scoring 5.04 runs per game, while batting .248, with a .330 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.50 ERA, with a 1.28 WHIP.

Julio Urias (9-6, 4.39 ERA, 63 Ks) will take the mound for Los Angeles. The eighth-year lefty took care of business in the desert last week, tossing six scoreless frames against the Diamondbacks en route to his ninth victory. Urias has felt the heat and picked things up with the acquisition of Lance Lynn, and the looming arrival of Walker Buehler. The former 20-game winner has a good shot to keep rolling here versus a struggling Rockies club.

Dodgers Player Trends & Props

Freddie Freeman has multiple hits in seven of the previous nine games, and he leads the Dodgers in BA (.343) hits (154), and RBI (81), with 23 homers.

Mookie Betts has totaled multiple bases in seven of his last eight games, and after extending his hit streak to fifteen games, he leads the team in home runs (31), with 77 RBI.

Amed Rosario has produced a run in four of the last seven games, and he’s batting .264, with 49 RBI for the season.

Corey’s Free Pick

Los Angeles is executing at a high level right now, and I don’t think they slip up here. They’re handling business on both sides right now, with their pitching coming along way since the start of July, and they’ve fully distanced themselves in the NL West. The run line is massive again, but let’s just trust the Dodgers to do what they’ve been doing at a high rate, and that’s winning ball games. Back LAD here.
