1.40 – Coral Handicap (5f)

Navello was back on form when scoring in the Epsom Dash in June and still has a chance based on his best form for George Boughey and William Buick, but WHENTHEDEALINSDONE is a former course-and-distance winner here, and he is back on a winning mark now. Roger Teal applies a tongue tie for the first time, and with Oisin Murphy in the plate he could go well again.

Selection: Whenthedealinsdone @ 11/1 with BoyleSports

2.15 – British EBF 40th Anniversary Maiden Stakes (6f)

Former champion jockey Murphy rides this track well, and Array could have a significant say in the Juddmonte silks for Andrew Balding after the No Nay Never colt was a clear second on debut at Newbury last month. Lots of dangers are lurking, including newcomers Dorney Lake and A La Noche, but UNION ISLAND was only denied late on by a rival with experience on his debut at Hamilton recently and should improve plenty now for trainer Charlie Johnston.

Selection: Union Island @ 4/1 with BoyleSports

2.50 – Coral Chesterfield Cup Handicap (1m 2f)

Lord Protector had less than a length to spare over Haunted Dream when they were first and second at Sandown last time. The runner-up has a 2lb swing now, and both can go well again. OUTBREAK faded in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot when previously spotted, but Andrea Atzeni’s partner could do much better eased 1lb in this field. He had been in good form before that and has his chance once more.

Selection: Outbreak @ 12/1 with BoyleSports

3.25 – Nicholson Gin Vintage Stakes (7f, Group 2)

Coventry Stakes fifth Haatem has since gone well over this trip in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket, taking the silver medal behind tearaway winner City Of Troy (now antepost favourite for the 2,000 Guineas). He is right in the mix on form, while Newbury novice victor Iberian is respected upped in class for Charlie Hills. WITNESS STAND impressed in a winning debut at Chester in late June, and Tom Clover’s son of Expert Eye could be one the market is underestimating.

Selection: Witness Stand @ 12/1 with BoyleSports

4.00 – World Pool Lennox Stakes (7f, Group 2)

KINROSS won this in 2021 and was inched out last summer before embarking on a four-race winning spree that included Group 1 triumphs at Longchamp and Ascot. He was well held in the Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot after nearly eight months off, but his latest July Cup third at Newmarket was a fine effort – and eased in grade at a course he handles, he is the one to beat.

Selection: Kinross @ 6/5 with BoyleSports

4.35 – Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup Stakes (2m, Group 1)

Unbeaten Ascot Gold Cup scorer Courage Mon Ami is the standard-bearer for the Gosdens and Frankie Dettori and could be a tough nut to crack. But Coltrane will give him a race again, and in this two-mile trip EMILY DICKINSON (fourth at Ascot) could also get much closer. The Dubawi filly has been a ready winner since in Ireland at 1m 6f, and the forecast soft ground is in her favour.

Selection: Emily Dickinson @ 11/2 with BoyleSports

5.05 – Coral Fillies’ Handicap (1m)

Plenty of these are unexposed and open to better things, including Floating Spirit for Andrew Balding and Zouzanna for Roger Charlton. But STORMY SEA has scope for better on handicap bow. Sir Michael Stoute’s charge was a little disappointing in a York Listed race when last seen in May, but the manner of her Haydock victory before that was eye-catching, and with Ryan Moore on board she represents last year’s winning trainer-jockey combo here.

Selection: Stormy Sea @ 4/1 with BoyleSports

5.35 – World Pool British EBF Fillies’ Handicap (6f)

After wins at Carlisle (7f, soft) and Pontefract (6f, good), the Charlie Johnston-trained Kitai arrives on the up and is not overlooked despite the handicapper tagging on another 7lb. However, EXECUTIVE DECISION has run well in a pair of valuable handicaps at Ascot and Newmarket since relocating to Jamie Osborne from Ireland, and the three-year-old could have a race such as this within her grasp.

Selection: Executive Decision @ 8/1 with BoyleSports
