Go Joe Won won the race. He had the inside post position. The stewards ruled that neither he nor Newgrange stopped the other horse. High Connection and Juan Hernandez came third. Baffert is one of three trainers to win horse racing's Triple Crown twice. In both the 2015 Belmont Stakes with American Pharoah and the 2018 Bel Mont with Justify, the Triple crown was secured when Baddert's horse took the early lead and stayed in front.
