Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Lakers Prediction 10-7-23 NBA Picks

The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors meet Saturday in NBA preseason action at the Chase Center. Let’s preview this game and give out a pick and prediction.

Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a western conference finals appearance and enter year 2 under coach Darvin Ham. The Lakers will obviously go as far as LeBron James and Anthony Davis take them, but they made a lot of moves to improve the depth. The Lakers added Gabe Vincent, Christian Wood, Taurean Prince and Cam Reddish, giving them 4 legit role players who can shoulder some of the load. Getting a full season of Jarred Vanderbilt, Rui Hachimura and D'Angelo Russell will also help now that they’re fully in the system. The Lakers have the pieces around their stars to make a run, and it’s why they have top-5 odds to win the title at most books. Health with LeBron is key.

Golden State Warriors Betting Preview

The Golden State Warriors are coming off a second round exit and enter the 10th season under coach Steve Kerr. The Warriors are still rolling with their championship trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, which has produced four titles over the years. The rest of the team was flipped upside down. Jordan Poole is in Washington, Andre Iguodala retired and Donte DiVincenzo left for the Knicks. The Warriors made a splash by trading for Chris Paul, the point guard who was the Warriors rival in many previous playoff battles. Cory Joseph provides more guard depth and Dario Saric is shooting off the bench. The Warriors will always be a threat with given their championship experience, but it will be interesting to see how the role players come together, especially how they work CP3 into a unique situation.

Trends

The Lakers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games. The Warriors are 42-19-1 ATS in their last 62 home games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games. The over is 4-1 in Lakers last 5 road games. The over is 4-1 in Warriors last 5 home games. The Lakers are 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings.

Randy’s Free Pick

The Los Angeles Lakers are just a veteran team that doesn't take the preseason seriously. In fact, the Lakers are 1-11 SU in their last two preseasons, and that includes 3 losses to the Warriors. The Golden State Warriors are a fun, upbeat team that's usually out to put on a show whether the game counts or not, and we should expect no different in front of their home fans. Don't expect the stars to play much or at all for either side. Still, I'll lay the bucket with the Warriors given the Lakers passive attitude toward the preseason.
