Gosford races: Brad Davidson’s tips and extended preview

Sky Racing’s form analyst Brad Davidson runs the rule over every race for the Gosford stand-alone meeting on Saturday.

R1: 2YO HANDICAP (1200m). Resonator impressed first-up and should get a good run on speed here. Robusto has trialled well leading in and beat subsequent stakes winner Williamsburg prior to a break. Zou Tiger got tired first time at Canterbury and he should strip fitter. Grace's Secret is a New Zealand filly.

Two Ya Got didn't run out the 1400m last start but his form prior to that was strong. Boom Boom Basil was super first-up on the wrong part of the track. Tucson Valley just has to reproduce the last starts effort at 1200m to go close. Sungblue drops a stack in weight and also must be considered.

R3: MIDWAY BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1200m). Budhwar has trialled well leading in and he has finished second in two Midways so far. Magic On Ice won last start. Showtime Lady and Daralina Belle have each-way chances.

Dehorned Unicorn should go close to winning in the R4 3&4YO BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP (1000m). Never Second has also trialled well and can feature fresh. Siege and Capital Reign are among the other chances.

Aleas was beaten last start but he was taken on before the turn. Military Mission is flying this campaign. Hameron gets the blinkers on and he has been crying out for a gear change. Bonny Ezra just has to see out the 2080m to be competitive.

Gosford Gold Cup takes place on Saturday. Main Stage is flying this campaign and can win again. Great House is talented and this is a nice level for him. Esti Fenny has been hitting the line well this prep and will feature. Marroni needs to bounce back after pulling up lame last start.

The Coast is the second edition of the Gosford race. Playboy has been flying this prep. Rustic Steel is some query to run out a strong 1600m. Diamil gets the shades on and must be respected. Old Flame has built nicely this pre-race and needs to see out 1600 m now.

R10: BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP (1200m). Coal Crusher has come back well this prep and can make it a hat-trick of wins. Battleton wasn't far off Home Affairs in a Group 1 before a break and he comes back as a gelding here. Titanium Power has good form on wet ground but isn't a renowned fresh performer. Selburose comes right into play if the track dries out.
