Randwick races: Brad Davidson tips and extended preview, Chipping Norton Stakes

Sky Racing’s form analyst Brad Davidson runs the rule over every race for the Randwick meeting on Saturday.

Pretty Woman can sit out wide and blend into the race at the R1 TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP (1000m). Salire did a good job to win well fresh and he has to be sharp enough for the 1000m second-up. Devils Triangle and Shelby Sixtysix next best.

Mayrose was super first-up and clocked the best late splits of the night. Key Largo often finds a way to get beaten but he does have a nice turn of foot and should be strong late. Delexo should have won fresh and needs to extend his form to 1100m now.

Coolangatta is unbeaten and won the Magic Millions. Xtravagant Star won Inglis Millennium. Lady Laguna was caught wide fresh and breeding suggests she will appreciate 1200m. Extreme comes out of a hot rating race on debut and is a sneaky place chance at big odds.

R5: Liverpool City Cup (1300m). Atishu lost her way towards the end of last prep but she was dominant first-up last season at Randwick. Ellsberg could have trialled a touch better leading in but he is unbeaten fresh and sits up on a strong speed. Quantico seems a bit short considering all his form is on dry ground. Poetic Charmer and Aramayo can both run well at odds.

Icebath is short and she's going to be a long way off the big horses. Forbidden Love's career peak came at this track and distance. Promise Of Success will have admirers. Kiku and Nimalee will both run well at odds. Nimaloe beat Icebath first up last prep.

R7: Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m). Track conditions will be key here. Think It Over will win. Verry Elleegant will have a chance on wet ground. Collette is unbeaten on heavy ground and might be too good if it's heavy.

Fangirl was given an absolute peach fresh but will get a long way back. Zouzarella was wide fresh and boxed on well. Four Moves Ahead is a big improver back onto a wet track with the blinkers off.

R9: PETALUMA WINES HANDICAP (2000m). Galaxy Belle drops a stack in weight and should be able to cope with the bigger track. Dadoozdart's recent form is ordinary but he loves wet ground. Mr Gee, Through Irish Eyes, Yiyi and Outlandos are capable.

Maotai won a race fresh and he ran time. The Bopper beat all except the previous winner Rule Of Law last start. Taksu is a good wet tracker but could have trialled better. Gravina trialed well and should be rattling home late.
