Grand National Thursday 2022 results recap: Sir Alex Ferguson's Clan Des Obeaux wins Betway Bowl

Clan Des Obeaux won the Betway Bowl on day one of the Grand National. Sir Alex Ferguson won three Grade 1s at Anfield last year. He has a few horses along with Ged and John Hales. He is enjoying racing more than football. Grand Nats are on Thursday.

Law Ella won her debut race at Down Royal by six and a half lengths. Kateira was also impressive first time out and is capable of having a say. Rosy Redrum and Lady Excalibur are other mares with bright futures ahead of them. The winner of the Betway Bowl at Aintree will be announced at 5.15.

The Last Day won at Aintree earlier in the season. He makes amends for his luckless run at Haydock last time by landing the Red Rum Handicap Chase at 12-1 under Adam Wedge.

Gunsight Ridge is the favourite in the 4.40 Aintree race. Before Midnight, Thyme White and The Last Day are also in contention.   The winner of the race will be announced at 5.45. The other runners are: Frero Banbou, Bun Doran, L'Homme Presse and Dolos.

Sam Waley Cohen is retiring after riding Noble Yeats in Saturday's Grand National. Walye Cohen has ridden six winners over the National fences and a Gold Cup on Long Run. Noble Yewats is a 40-1 chance to win the Grand Nats.

Latenightpass wins the Foxhunters. Gina Andrews finishes second.

Coleman is full of praise for his mount Epatante. Epadante won the Aintree Hurdle. He is grateful for the support JP McManus and his team give him.

LATENIGHTPASS is favourite to win the Aintree race at 4.05. Cat Tiger, third in 2021, and Jett are also in the running.   The winner will be announced on Thursday. The other runners are: Porlock Bay, Cat Tigers and Grand National eighth Jetta.

Betway Aintree Hurdle (Grade 1) 2m 4f. Brewin'upastorm (IRE) is the winner. Glory And Fortune (IRI) second, Tom Lacey third, Guard Your Dreams fourth, McFabulous fifth, Monmiral sixth, Zanahiyr seventh, Epatante eighth.

It was on this day last year Sir Alex Ferguson celebrated a £169k treble. Now he's celebrating again with Clan Des Obeaux.

Brewin’upastorm, Zanahiyr, Guard Your Dreams and Gloony And Fortune are the favourites for Aintree's Grand National. The winner of the race will be announced at 3.30. The runner-up will receive 6lb from the runner up. Glory And Fortune finished in fifth place.

Clan Des Obeaux has been cut into 14/1 from 20/ 1 to win next season's King George at Kempton.

Clan Des Obeaux has won the Betway Bowl for the second year running. He has earned over £1m in prize money in his career.

Protektorat is only fourth in the race. Kemboy and Clan Des Obeaux are going head-to-head up front. Sir Alex Ferguson's Clan De Obec is the winner.

Harry Skelton's favourite Protektorat is patiently ridden. Kemboy leads into the final two miles, followed by Eldorado Allen, Conflated and Clan Des Obeaux.
