Grand Valley vs. Ferris State: Preview, prediction and how to watch

Grand Valley State and Ferris State are playing in the Anchor-Bone Classic in 2022. The winner will be the defending DII football champion. The team that loses has an uphill battle for the GLIAC title.

Grand Valley State will play Ferris State in the Anchor-Bone Classic on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live on FloSports.

Ferris State and Grand Valley State are playing each other this Saturday. Grand Vile State has a 29-22-1 edge in the series. Ferris has won eight of the last nine meetings. The Lakers won 12 straight games before Tony Annese took over. It's the first time that both teams are ranked in top 25.

Mylik Mitchell started the season as the starting quarterback, but an injury has passed the duties over to Evan Cummins and Carson Gulker. Cummin has the ability to pass and run, while Gulkers has been bulldozing opponents. Defensive end Caleb Murphy is leading the nation with 12.5 sacks.

Grand Valley State and Ferris State are playing each other in a football game on Saturday. Grand Valley won the DII football championship four times between 2002-06. The current Lakers head coach Matt Mitchell had experience with Ferriis State as an assistant coach. Ferrid State's current Athletics Director Steve Brockelbank was also a coach on those teams.

Grand Valley State and Ferris State meet in a classic rivalry on Saturday. Ferries State won the last four regular-season games on the final drives. Cade Peterson and Tariq Reid are healthy and played significant minutes in both games last year.  The game will be won in the trenches. The winner will take the GLIAC title. It's been decided on late-game drives in all previous games.
