3 candidates for the next head coach of WMU football

Tim Lester was fired as the head coach of Western Michigan football team on Monday afternoon. Athletic director Dan Bartholmae has already begun the search for a new coach.

Jim Leonhard was snubbed as the new head coach of Wisconsin's football team. Leon hard won the job after taking over for Paul Chryst. He is a 10-year NFL veteran and three-time All Big-Ten recipient as a safety at UW-Madison. He's already being considered for several NFL positions. Luke Fickell was hired by Chris McIntosh from Cincinnati. Bartholomae is one of three candidates for the WMU football job.

Tony Annese is the winningest coach between FBS, FCS and Division II schools. Ferris St. won the National Championship in 2021. Anesne has a 101-16 overall record since taking over in 2012. Bartholomae will look for a coach with experience in the Midwest and knowledge of the MAC.

Sherrone Moore is the co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Michigan football. He was the head coach of Central Michigan from 2014-18. Moore has produced some of the top offensive linemen in the country. Bartholomae expects to make a hiring either on Early Signing Day, Dec. 21 or the beginning of spring semester, Jan. 9.
